The Committee of Experts on Artificial Intelligence, Equality and Discrimination holds its first meeting

The Committee of Experts on Artificial Intelligence, Equality and Discrimination (GEC/ADI-AI) will hold its first plenary meeting on 20-21 February in Strasbourg.

GEC/ADI-AI is a subordinate body to both the Gender Equality Commission (GEC) and the Steering Committee on Anti-discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (CDADI), and is tasked by the Committee of Ministers with drafting  a Recommendation on the impact of artificial intelligence systems, their potential for promoting equality – including gender equality – and the risks they may cause in relation to non-discrimination.

The draft Recommendation will be based on the Study commissioned by GEC and CDADI as well as the work of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence, namely, the future Framework Convention on artificial intelligence.

At this first meeting which marks the beginning of this significant work, members, participants and observers to the GEC/ADI-AI will discuss the preliminary outline of the draft Recommendation.
