A project by the Czech Gender Equality Department and the Norwegian NGO “Alternative to violence” has been featured by the SYNERGY Network against gender-based and domestic violence as an example of good practice on addressing gender-based violence. The project, funded by the EEA and Norway Grants under the Czechia human rights, Roma inclusion and domestic and gender-based violence Programme demonstrated notable advances in training professionals and students on preventing gender-based violence. The Czech Gender Equality Department is a permanent government advisory body established by government Resolution in 2001.
Coordinated by the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the Council of Europe plays a central role in the SYNERGY Network as a main international partner providing strategic guidance, resources, training materials, and guidance to the network's activities and its members. The Council of Europe promotes adherence to its standards and best practices related to gender-based violence within the network, specifically through the Istanbul Convention. The Council of Europe also advances knowledge sharing and collaboration among SYNERGY Network members.
