Videoconference on execution by Hungary of ECHR judgments

On 15 December, the Execution Department held a videoconference with the Government Agent and a representative of the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the Council of Europe. The meeting aimed to follow up on earlier discussions concerning the prompt execution of the European Court's judgments, thereby strengthening the cooperation between the authorities and the department.

Discussions also touched upon pending issues concerning several cases under enhanced supervision, notably Baka (premature termination of the mandate of the President of the Supreme Court through ad hominem legislation), Szabó and Vissy (absence of sufficient guarantees in law concerning secret surveillance), Rana (lack of legislation governing gender reassignment and name-changing procedure of a recognised refugee) and Horvath and Kiss (discriminatory assignment of Roma children to schools for children with mental disabilities).
