On 19 March, the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights hosted a study visit of the State Legal Council of Greece. The State Legal Council provides legal support for the Greek State and represents it before domestic and international courts, including the European Court. It also acts as the national coordinator for the execution of the European Court’s judgments.
The visit aimed to strengthen co-operation and raise awareness on the execution of the Court’s judgments. During the visit, the Department presented the execution process and its working methods. The discussions focused on the progress already made by Greece in this area, as well as on the important judgments currently pending before the Committee of Ministers and their status of execution.
