A delegation of the Committee of Experts is visiting the United Kingdom this week from 19-23 February 2024 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. The delegation is meeting with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and the competent authorities in Caernarfon, Belfast, Douglas and London. This is the sixth monitoring visit of the Committee to the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in the United Kingdom containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in 2024.
