A delegation of the Committee of Experts is visiting the Czech Republic this week from 25-28 September 2023 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. The delegation is meeting with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and the competent authorities in Prague and Český Těšín/Czeski Cieszyn. This is the fifth monitoring visit of the Committee to the Czech Republic. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in the Czech Republic containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in 2024.
