A delegation of the Committee of Experts is visiting Croatia this week from 16-20 October 2023 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. The delegation is meeting with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and the competent authorities in Rijeka, Vrbovsko, Osijek, Orehovica and Zagreb. This is the seventh monitoring visit of the Committee to Croatia. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in Croatia containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in 2024.
