A new co-authored article titled “In addressing TNE governance challenges, students are key” has been published on University World News, featuring contributions from Stig Arne Skjerven (UNESCO), Francesca Villa (CIMEA), Vangelis Tsiligkiris (TNE Hub), Luca Lantero (CIMEA), Elena Cîrlan (ENQA), and Catherine Dolgova Dreyer (Council of Europe).
The article builds on the rich discussions from the ETINED EduTalk on “Ensuring Quality and Integrity in Transnational Education” (TNE), and explores the rapid evolution and increasing complexity of TNE, emphasising the pressing need for robust quality assurance, stronger cross-border cooperation, and better protection of student interests.
The article also contributes to the broader reflection process supporting the revision of the Code of Good Practice in the Provision of TNE, which is expected to be finalised by autumn 2025 under the Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee (LRCC).
To complement the article, a series of short video clips will be released throughout the year. In these videos, experts respond to pressing questions about TNE, including the risks, opportunities, and governance challenges of cross-border education. Click here to view the teaser trailer.
Stay tuned for the launch of the first video clips in the coming weeks!
