PECK II supports revision of the AML/CFT legislation in Kosovo*

Upon request by the beneficiary institutions, PECK II Project supported the first inter-ministerial Working Group mandated to develop the concept document amending the legislation related to anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). The decision to amend the legislation is based on the findings and recommendations stemming from the PECK II Assessment report on the compliance of Kosovo with international standards in the AML/CFT area. Considering this was the first meeting, discussions focused on priority areas including the need to clarify the definition of the money laundering offence, seizure of cash, issues related to obligations of Non Profit Organizations as reporting entities, simplified due diligence, regulation of the beneficial ownership.
