The national Human Rights Caravan campaign concluded its second edition

The 2025 edition of the nationwide Human Rights Caravan campaign successfully concluded its journey on June 15 in Taraclia, following earlier stops in Straseni on May 18 and Edinet on June 1.

Organized by the People’s Advocate Office, in partnership with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the Council of Europe, the campaign aimed to raise awareness and advance the promotion and protection of human rights across the Republic of Moldova.

The Caravan brought together a broad spectrum of participants, including local public authorities, international organizations, national institutions, NGO representatives, and community members of all ages. Across each location, the campaign hosted a variety of inclusive activities, ranging from interactive quizzes and public discussions to film screenings and the distribution of educational materials, designed to make human rights education accessible and engaging.

In addition to public events, the Caravan included meetings with local authorities and onsite visits to rural areas in each district.  These outreach efforts focused on identifying specific human rights concerns, promoting civic participation, and encouraging multi-level dialogue and collaboration between citizens and institutions.

This campaign was organised with the support of the Council of Europe through the following projects: Supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova - Phase II, Promoting multilevel dialogue, open government and human rights at local level in the Republic of Moldova  and Support to the Office of the Ombudsperson in the Protection of Human Rights in the Republic of Moldova - Phase I.
