Twenty Moldovan police officers strengthened their ability to investigate hate speech through a two-day Council of Europe workshop, held in partnership with the General Inspectorate of Police.
The training enhanced officers’ skills in documenting, analyzing, and assessing hate speech cases in line with European standards, including the Council of Europe Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers on combating hate speech. It also deepened understanding of legal tools to address incitement to discrimination and hatred.
Improved documentation and investigation practices will help identify offenders, support victims, and ensure swift, evidence-based responses - building public trust and reinforcing Moldova’s commitment to European integration and human rights standards.
This event was organised in cooperation with the General Inspectorate of Police and the Council of Europe project "Enhancing diversity and equality in the Republic of Moldova - phase II", within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for 2025-2028
