Participants were familiarized with the CEC Communication Plan adjusted with Council of Europe assistance at the end of August 2024. The training emphasized the importance of identifying potential image crises and coping with them effectively, both during the election and in the aftermath.
To that end, the Council of Europe consultant presented 16 case studies of communication attacks and crises of image which took place since 1 August 2024. He outlined criteria for identifying, preparing and responding to them using both symmetric and asymmetric approaches, as well as addressing potential sources of media attacks.
Key goals of the CoE’s ongoing communication assistance is to support the CEC's in safeguarding its credibility, its ability to influence positively public narratives, and in acting in a more transparent and open manner towards all electoral stakeholders.
The activity was undertaken by the Council of Europe Project Improving Electoral Practice in the Republic of Moldova, Phase III in partnership with the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova.
