Closing event for the CEPEJ co-operation Project in the Republic of Moldova

The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) conducted on 23 February 2023, in Chisinau, the final Steering Committee meeting for the bilateral co-operation project in the Republic of Moldova. During this event were presented different achieved results and were discussed the perspectives for continued cooperation within the next phase of the EU/COE “Partnership for Good Governance” Program (PGG III).

The main national partners of the project, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Agency for Court Administration, the National Institute of Justice, and the National Union of Enforcement Agents, underlined the relevance of this co-operation for improving the functioning of the justice system through strengthened efficiency and quality of courts, and a better system of enforcement of court decisions. A specific session was dedicated to the advancement in developing the JUSTAT AIS – a national tool for publishing statistics, key indicators, and other information on the performance of the court system in the Republic of Moldova – a tool being implemented thanks to the support from CEPEJ.

This activity has been organised within the framework of the Project ”Support to further strengthening the efficiency and quality of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova”, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II.
