The Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly is preparing a report on combating anti-Semitism in Europe. Austrian Member of Parliament, Petra Bayr was nominated rapporteur for the report.

In the context of her consultations, I had a very fruitful exchange and assured Petra Bayr of my full support as the Secretary General’s Special Representative. The Parliamentary Assembly initiative is timely and necessary as we are witnessing a continued rise in antisemitic hate speech and hate crimes during the ongoing Corona pandemic. We agreed to cooperate closely and I remain at the disposal of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination.
