The certification of the European Paganini Route as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe was celebrated on 29 October 2026 in Genoa, Italy, during an official ceremony held at Palazzo Tursi.

The ceremony brought together representatives of local and regional authorities, members of the European Paganini Route and cultural heritage stakeholders. In his address, Rui Gomes, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, highlighted that the European Paganini Route goes beyond Paganini’s musical legacy, celebrating his pioneering spirit and his influence on generations of musicians. He also emphasised the role of music in bringing people and cultures together across Europe, in the spirit of the Santiago de Compostela Declaration.

Rui Gomes thanked the managers of the European Paganini Route for their work and contribution to strengthening the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme and enriching its cultural diversity.
