The Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights organized a working visit with Mr Stanislav Shevchuk, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, and members of the Constitutional Court, from 13 to 14 December.
Meetings were held with representatives notably of the Registry of the Court, the Venice Commission, Legal Advice and Treaty Office, the European Social Charter, and the Group of States against Corruption.
The discussions highlighted the positive impact of ECHR and the Court’s case law on the legal system of Ukraine, as well as the Constitutional Court’s key role in ensuring the full and effective protection of human rights domestically mainly through preventing ECHR violations and redressing them following the Court’s judgments.
