Germany and Israel ratify the Lisbon Recognition Convention
Germany and Israel have recently deposited their instruments of ratification of the Council of Europe/UNESCO Recognition Convention. With respect to Israel, the Convention will come into force on September 1 and with respect to Germany it will do so on October 1.

The Council of Europe/UNESCO Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region provides the legal framework for qualifications in the European region. This site also provides a constantly updated overview of signatures and ratifications.

With the ratifications by Germany and Israel, the total number of ratifications is now 45, and 5 countries have signed the Convention and are in the process of ratification.
