Training of Trainers of the Council of Europe HELP Programme

The European Programme on Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (the HELP Programme of the Council of Europe) announces a call for applications for participation in the Training of Trainers (ToT), which will be held from 29 March to 1 April 2017 in Moscow region (exact venue to be announced later).

The aim of the training is to enable the participants to organise, launch and conduct the educational activities for legal professionals in the framework of the HELP Programme.

The programme of the training consists of four full-day working sessions and distance work on set tasks over one week before and two weeks after the training. As a result of the training, those participants who successfully fulfill all stages of the training, will receive trainers’ certificates of the HELP Programme.

The participants will be required to complete:

- The study of the available materials and HELP courses on three topics: "Business and Human Rights", “Family Law and Human Rights” and "Admissibility of Evidence in Criminal Proceedings";

- Development of pilot training courses based on interactive methods of work and HELP methodology;

- Subsequent organisation and tutoring of training courses, both online and face-to-face, with the use of materials, methodology and educational online HELP platform.

Practicing lawyers and / or lecturers of law wishing to become certified HELP trainers are invited to participate.

Working language of the training is Russian; participation is free of charge, as well as the following use of materials, courses and HELP online platform. Selected candidates will be contacted by the HELP Secretariat.

Selection criteria:

- Working experience as a lawyer and / or in teaching in the field of law;

- Knowledge and understanding of the universal principles and norms of international public law;

- Openness to the use of new interactive learning techniques, including the use of computer technologies and educational online platforms;

- The capability to organise and conduct online and / or face-to-face training courses using the acquired knowledge and skills in practice;

- Fluency in English or French is highly desirable.
