(Baku, Azerbaijan, 20 – 21 April 2005)
Organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, this seminar brought together international experts, representatives of the Ministry of Education, including the Deputy Minister Mr. Elmar Qasimov, and of higher education institutions. It was intended to support the preparation of the implementation of the key policies of the EHEA in Azerbaijan following this country’s expected accession to the Bologna Process in May 2005.
The conference provided participants with a solid overview of the main elements of the Bologna Process and allowed ample opportunities for discussion.
This was followed by a one-day seminar on 22 April on the recognition of qualifications for representatives of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan to help improve the recognition of foreign qualifications by giving an overview of the international legal framework for the recognition of qualifications, the role of national information centres and the ENIC Network and an overview of current best international practice.
