Twenty-three trainers from 20 regional centres for advanced training and higher education institutions for civil servants and local self-government officials, representing 13 regions of Ukraine, learned more about human rights within "Participatory Youth Policy" training course.

The participants focused on human rights concepts and their implications for training activities, youth participation in the context of young people's access to rights, and analysis of current regulations and tools in the youth sector of Ukraine and Europe. These topics were explored through the prism of access to human rights and a participatory approach. The training provided a space for exchanging experiences and networking among trainers of the "Participatory Youth Policy" programme.

Participants also explored the potential of the “Living Library” format to overcome stereotypes and prejudices against young people who experience discrimination in society, including young people with disabilities, autism, internally displaced youth, blind youth, young representatives of the LGBTI community, and transgender youth.

This activity was organised by the Council of Europe project "Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase IV", in co-operation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

The human rights-focused training is part of the "Participatory Youth Policy" programme, developed in 2023 and 2024. This programme also includes a training manual, mentoring, and expert support for trainer teams in preparing and implementing trainings at the regional and local levels. In 2024-2025, the programme will result in 27 advanced training sessions for 870 civil servants, local self-government officials, scientists, and educators.
