Students, teachers, parents, and leaders of educational institutions gathered at the Durrës Cultural Centre for the next stop of the "Never Violence” awareness-raising exhibition. Conceptualised by the Swedish Institute and inspired by the speech of the well-known children's author Astrid Lindgren, the exhibition conveys powerful messages against violence through a combination of inspiring texts and illustrations. It also provides a strong platform for reflection for children, educators, and parents on the need to build a future where violence has no place.
The event was attended and welcomed by the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana, Giulia Re, the Mayor of Durrës, Emirjana Sako, and the Head of Development Cooperation at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Erik Illes.
The "Never Violence" exhibition is available in Albanian with the support of the Council of Europe project Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). This initiative offers an innovative approach to educating and raising awareness among children and young people about the importance of building a just and non-violent society.
The project aims to promote democratic values, strengthen civic education, and raise awareness of children's rights, thereby contributing to their protection from all forms of violence.
