The No Hate Speech 2025 week has just started and the SOGIESC Unit is delighted to welcome 31 participants from all over Europe for a 3-day study visit. Participants from civil society, faith-based organisations, law enforcement, media and journalists, as well as public authorities at the local level will have the possibility to “walk a mile in each other’s shoes” through three SOGIESC-focussed workshops:
- 18/06 Countering anti-rights narratives: early warnings and best practices
- 19/06 Human Rights Standards and the Role of the Police
- 19/06 Ethical reporting on LGBTI issues for media and journalists
In addition to SOGIESC-focused sessions, participants will follow additional workshops and plenary sessions proposed during the week. On the last day, the group will gather one last time to share, build synergies and brainstorm about new joint strategies.
The study visit is organised within the framework of the EU/CoE joint project “Combating Anti-LGBTIQ Violence and Hate Speech, and Strengthening Awareness and Fact-based Narratives about LGBTIQ People.”
Welcome participants!
