The Intercultural Inclusion Unit and the SOGIESC Unit are pleased to welcome 20 participants from 14 countries as part of the three-day Study Visit on LGBTIQ Workplace Inclusion, organised in the framework of the No Hate Speech Week 2026. Representing public authorities at national level, Municipalities in Europe and beyond, LGBTIQ civil society organisations and local businesses, participants will take part in two workshops focused on promoting LGBTIQ inclusion in the workplace.
Workshop 1 is inspired by the Intercultural Cities Programme’s (ICC) inter-city grant “Rainbow Connections”, implemented by the cities of Leeds (UK) and Oeiras (Portugal). It focuses on the realities of training municipal staff across departments on LGBTIQ inclusion, with particular attention to developing partnerships, navigating challenges, and turning learning into institutional change.
Workshop 2 draws on the experience of Open for Business and Federacja Znaki Równości (Federation of Equality Signs), members of the European Pride Business Network (EPBN), and examines how collaboration between municipalities and the private sector can help advance LGBTIQ inclusion in workplaces and strengthen broader equality efforts.
In addition to SOGIESC-focused sessions, participants will follow additional workshops and plenary sessions proposed during the week.
The study visit is organised within the framework of the EU/CoE joint project “Combating Anti-LGBTIQ Violence and Hate Speech, and Strengthening Awareness and Fact-based Narratives about LGBTIQ People” and Intercultural Cities (ICC) Programme.
