Call for partners: the 25th University on Youth and Development focuses on AI, youth, and peace

The 25th edition of the University on Youth and Development (UYD) will be organised in Mollina, Spain, from 13 to 20 September 2026. Under the annual theme for the Youth Summer Universities in 2026: AI, Youth, and Peace: Preventing cybercrime and digital harm through responsible AI governance, the North South Centre is looking for partners who are interested in organising activities in the framework of the UYD with a connection to the topic.

The 2026 edition will explore key questions related to critical AI literacy, the skills young people need to navigate AI-powered digital environments, and the role youth can play in promoting ethical, responsible governance of AI and preventing digital harm.

The University on Youth and Development is an international youth event that brings together youth-led and youth-oriented organisations from across Europe and beyond. The event provides a unique platform for participants to run their own activities (trainings, seminars, board meetings, etc.) within a dynamic and participatory context that encourages networking, cooperation, and peer-to-peer education.

Since 2000, the UYD has served as an international hub for meetings, youth advocacy and the exchange of best practices, all designed to empower youth to become catalysts for positive change. Hundreds of young people, youth workers, decision-makers, field experts and institutional representatives come together for a week-long programme of meetings, debates, capacity-building and collaboration on youth policy issues in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The annual theme provides the connecting thread for all activities held during the Summer Universities, with all participants invited to engage with it during the plenary sessions. Don't miss this opportunity to propose an activity as part of this transformative event dedicated to youth empowerment in the field of AI, youth, and peace.

How to apply?

Interested parties in joining the 25th edition are invited to carefully read the theme concept and the call for activities in order to understand the practicalities and commitments involved for partners who join this year’s edition. Activity proposals can be submitted until 24 May 2026.

Organisations selected to run their activity within the 25th edition of the UYD will join the partnership and collaborate with many other organisations for the success of the event and for the growth of the youth sector.
