Subotica is a city in northern Vojvodina, Serbia. Formerly the largest city of Vojvodina region, contemporary Subotica is now the second largest city in the province, following Novi Sad. It is also the fifth largest city in Serbia.

Subotica has a population of 148,401 inhabitants. The largest minority group- people from Hungary- makes up 38.47% of the city’s population. The largest minority groups in descending order are: Hungarians (38.47%), Croats (11.25%) and Bunjevcis (10.96%).
