On the 14 December 2020, the Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility II Action against Economic Crime in North Macedonia organised an online meeting during which representatives from the Financial Intelligence Office together with the Council of Europe’s consultant and the Action’s team discussed the amendment of the Criminal Code (CC) in order to enhance compliance of the money laundering corpus delicti with international standards.

Based on the discussions and preliminary review, the CoE consultant will also provide an analysis and recommendations on the implementation of other measures against money laundering.

The Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility II Action against Economic Crime in North Macedonia will support the review and update of the money laundering and the financing of terrorism offence as part of the national working group for drafting the new Criminal Code.
