Final review and endorsement of the assessment of the Tunisian anti-corruption framework

On 31 January 2017, the assessment report of the Tunisian legislative and institutional anti-corruption framework has been discussed in a plenary meeting in Tunis between CoE experts and Tunisian authorities.

The conclusions of the report have then been officially presented during a high-level conference in the morning of 1 February 2017, in the presence of Mr Abid Briki, Minister for Public Function and Governance, Mr Chawki Tabib, President of the Tunisian Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) and Mr Ivan Koedjikov, Head of Action against Crime Department at the Council of Europe.

The finalisation of the assessment process marks a key step for the cooperation between the Council of Europe and Tunisia in the fight against economic crime. It is expected that the recommendations included in the report will contribute to the ongoing reforms carried out by Tunisian authorities to strengthen their anti-corruption system.
