Back Council of Europe and European Union enhance capacities of the Georgian law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute corruption offenses (11-12 June 2019)

Representatives from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, State Security Service of Georgia, Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, and representatives of the Civil Service Bureau will participate in a two-day training on “Investigation and prosecution of corruption offenses” which will take place on 11-12 June, 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The aim of the activity is to enhance the skills and understanding of representatives from law enforcement agencies to fight against corruption offenses and other economic crimes in Georgia.

Participants will analyse investigative techniques and strategy, effective use of undercover operations, methods of tackling corruption through financial investigation, mechanisms of interagency and international cooperation etc.

Discussions will be followed by analysis of case studies and exercises exposing them to practical issues in investigations and prosecution of corruption cases.

activity is organized within the EU/CoE Partnership for Good Governance Project “Enhancing the systems of prevention and combating corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing in Georgia” (PGG II-GE), launched in January, 2019.
