CEPEJ organises a seminar with the High Inspector of Justice of Albania on information technology and digital ethics in the justice system

On 27 January 2026, the CEPEJ, in cooperation with the High Inspector of Justice of Albania and in the framework of the project “Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Albania (SEJ IV)”, organised a seminar with the aim to raise their awareness among the representatives of this institution regarding the use of information technology and artificial intelligence in the justice system, and to strengthen their capacities to envisage and address ethical issues related to the use of such tools by justice professionals.

36 justice inspectors that participated in this seminar also benefited from the presentation of the current trends in the area of digitalisation in European judicial systems, as well as of the CEPEJ standards and tools for the ethical use of artificial intelligence in justice, such as the European Ethical Charter on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Judicial Systems and their environment and the Guidelines on the use of generative AI for courts.

The activity was organised by the action Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Albania (SEJ IV)  in the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye (Horizontal Facility III), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
