Around sixty female judges and prosecutors from across Morocco gathered on 7 May 2026 for a training day focused on judicial leadership and court management.
Organised by the CEPEJ, in partnership with the High Council of the Judiciary of Morocco, the Office of the Public Prosecutor and the Higher Institute of the Judiciary, this is the third joint initiative on this theme with Moroccan institutions and forms part of a wider effort to strengthen the position and role of women in Morocco’s judicial governance.
Now integrated into the curriculum of the Higher Institute of the Judiciary, this module offers a fresh approach to judicial leadership. The participants were invited by Sonia Pallin (France), Interregional Director of Judicial Youth Protection for the South-East, a trainer at the National School of the Judiciary (ENM), and Hajiba Boukhari, President of the Commercial Court of Fez, to explore the challenges of strategic decision-making, the organisational management of courts and the development of institutional influence, with particular attention paid to the work-life balance.
By bringing together national and international expertise, this training session – which will be followed by others in the coming months – is helping to shape a new generation of female judicial leaders, capable of supporting the transformation of the Moroccan judicial system and working towards a modern, inclusive and effective justice system.
This activity was organised as part of the MA JUST programme, ‘Towards a more protective, accessible and effective justice system’, co-funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
