The CPT visits places of detention and assesses how persons deprived of their liberty are treated in order to strengthen their protection from torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
2023
Armenia, Malta, North Macedonia and Slovak Republic.
In addition, the CPT will carry out a visit to Ukraine, initially planned for 2022.
In total:
- 507 visits carried out (292 periodic + 215 ad hoc)
- 450 visit reports published
