In 2022, the Council of Europe joined forces with ECPAT International, to prepare Country Overviews, specifically covering the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (the Lanzarote Convention).  Finland, Italy and the Republic of Moldova were among the first to participate in this initiative. The joint Country Overviews shed light on the scale, scope, and context of  sexual exploitation and abuse of children, and suggest concrete actions to put an end to these crimes in the country. They have been prepared in close collaboration with the national authorities represented in the Lanzarote Committee and are based on information submitted through the General Overview Questionnaire, the recommendations adopted by the Lanzarote Committee in its monitoring rounds and additional desk-based research to fill in gaps as to progress made since such information and monitoring findings were adopted.

Country Overviews for other Parties to the Lanzarote Convention will follow.
