On 29 April, the Department for the Execution of Judgments (DEJ) held an online meeting with the Slovak Bar Association to discuss the execution of the European Court’s judgments pending before the Committee of Ministers (CM) with respect to the Slovak Republic. The DEJ presented the procedures for the supervision of the execution of judgments, with particular focus on Rule 9 of the Rules of the CM, which enables applicants, lawyers, civil society and national human rights institutions to submit communications in the execution process.
Participants were informed about the practical possibilities for Rule 9 submissions and on how such contributions can support the CM in assessing the progress made in implementing judgments. The DEJ also provided an overview of Slovak cases currently pending execution, highlighting key issues under supervision and the role of legal professionals in contributing to effective implementation.
