On 25-26, representatives of the Ministry Health of RA and National Institute of Health have participated in the 31st Meeting of National Ethics Councils (NEC forum) hold in Stockholm, Sweden. The meeting was organised in collaboration between the European Commission and the Swedish National Council on Medical Ethics.

Within the Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026, Council of Europe continues to support Armenian authorities, particularly the Ministry of Health, in their efforts to further strengthen the newly established Ethics Committee and has facilitated the participation Armenian delegation to forum. 

The forum was unique opportunity for Armenian counterparts to exchange information and experience on issues in the field of ethics and science, as well served as a perfect platform for establishing effective collaboration with the Swedish National Council on Medical Ethics and learning from their valuable experience. 

During the mission delegation visited Embassy of Armenia to Sweden and had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Alexander Arzoumanian, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia. The sides have discussed prospects of cooperation with the Swedish National Council on Medical Ethics, as well as ongoing reforms in the field of medical ethics in Armenia, which are implemented with the support of Council of Europe.
