Exchange of views of the ECSR with the European Committee for Social Cohesion (CCS)

Today, the European Committee of Social Rights is holding an exchange of views with the European Committee on Social Cohesion.

The exchange of views will focus on cooperation between the CCS and the ECSR in order to promote the enjoyment of Charter rights as interpreted by the ECSR in the context of a changing social, political and financial environment.

More particularly, in light of the ESCR’s monitoring and the CCS’ recent report on the impact of digitalisation and IT developments on social rights and social cohesion, the two Committees will seek to explore the challenges of digitalisation and its impact on platform workers and “atypical workers” identified in both ECSR monitoring and CCS work as well as the effect of the transition of jobs.

Also, the discussion will focus on the lessons learnt from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges to the full enjoyment of social rights as the recovery phase unfolds.
