Indietro First meeting of the European Social Cohesion Platform

First meeting of the European Social Cohesion Platform

The European Social Cohesion Platform held its first meeting on 27-28 June 2016 in Strasbourg. Particular attention was paid to social rights, as guaranteed by the European Social Charter and other relevant instruments with a special emphasis on vulnerable groups and young people.

The Platform was created as an ad hoc committee to respond to the request of several member States of the Council of Europe to create an intergovernmental structure to accompany the efforts of integration of the social aspects in the Council of Europe activities. It has a two-year mandate, from January 2016 to December 2017 and is open to all member States, bodies and institutions of the Council of Europe, but also to international organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
