On Monday 25 November, the Council of Europe’s Anti-Discrimination Department is holding a pre-event to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Berlin. ‘AI and Discrimination: Who’s problem is it?’
The event will discuss how to address the discriminatory effects that AI applications may have in many areas of life – e.g. recruitment, credit applications, admission to universities and judicial decisions.
Representatives of Equality Bodies, Equinet, Civil Society, including those working with affected communities, and Internet businesses will tackle the following questions:
- How can we create a transparent process for AI algorithms in order to ensure that they are not discriminatory?
- How to make users aware of how AI works?
- How does a user complain and find redress if they experience discrimination?
The event is open to all visitors at the IGF, 25 Nov. 9.00 – 12.30, Room: Estrel Saal B.
