- Description
- Roosendael (Valley of Roses) was a Cistercian nuns' abbey founded around 1225. The site has undergone subsequent major destructions throughout history. After 1958, the private domain was sold and converter into a residential youth center (www.cister.net/abbayes/fr/82/roosendael).
The Domain of Roosendael is owned by Kempens Landscape Association (Kempens Landschap vzw), active in 65 municipalities in the province of Antwerp to protect and manage heritage and natural heritage.
