On 12-13 November 2022 the Council of Europe under the Project “Human rights and women in the armed forces of Armenia-Phase II” (‘the Project’) organised a workshop for the personnel of the Department of Social Protection of the Military of the Armenian Ministry of Defence on the specifics of the social work/services.
The workshop was conducted by Council of Europe national consultants Ms Mira Antonyan, Mr David Gevorgyan and Ms Maria Hovoumyan.
The experts covered topics on prerequisite of application of social services, working conditions, criteria of quality social services, the styles of the provision of social services, the holistic approach, effective communication with the beneficiaries, the obstacles for effective communication and other related topics. Follow up activities, as well as other topics related to the social work/services to be further studied, were also discussed with the participants.
The National Programme Manager of the Project Ms Narine GASPARYAN underlined the importance of holding the training within the framework of the Project. The Head of the Social Department Colonel Aleksandr AVETISYAN mentioned, that the event highly supported the personnel of the Ministry to improve their skills for day-to-day work in the area of the provision of social services to the beneficiaries of the Department of the Social Protection of the Military of the Ministry.
The Project is implemented by the Council of Europe within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia for 2019-2022.
