On 25-26 on August 2022 the Council of Europe under the Project “Human rights and women in the armed forces of Armenia-Phase II” (‘the Project’) organised a workshop for managerial personnel of the Department of Social Protection of the Military of the Armenian Ministry of Defence on effective management.
The workshop was conducted by Council of Europe consultant Ms Maria Hovoumyan. The expert covered topics related to the management good practice, main functions of management, employee motivation tools, types of control, mentoring as well as delegation. Questions related to the knowledge, tools and confidence that the participants need for general management were also presented and discussed.
The National Programme Manager of the Project Ms Narine GASPARYAN underlined the importance of the training for the managerial personnel of the Department of the Social Protection of the Military. The Head of the Social Department Colonel Aleksandr AVETISYAN mentioned that “the topics discussed during the workshop are necessary and very timely”. The participants reaffirmed that the workshop enhanced their understanding of the role of the manager and the importance of management tools and methods, which is essential for their day-to-day work.
The Project is implemented by the Council of Europe within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia for 2019-2022.
