The Council of Europe office in Georgia continues supporting the implementation of the Training of Trainers on Human Rights Education for the resource officers of Educational Institutions. The trainings were carried out in 2 stages on June 18-22 and June 26-28. Within the framework of the above-mentioned events, 30 resource officers of the Educational Institutions representing Tbilisi, Kvemo and Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Samegrelo, Imereti, Ajara and Kakheti regions were trained according to the trainers’ training program.
During the trainings, the resource officers were introduced with and discussed about the topics, such as dealing with stereotypes, stigma and discrimination; promote tolerance and diversity; address bullying, cyberbullying and hate speech; and promote redress mechanisms; Convention on the Rights of the Child; Human Rights Education - approaches and methodology; the role of the resource officers in the field of human rights education.
The trainings were conducted by the resource officers of the Educational Institutions, who were trained as trainers in the framework of the previous activities implemented by the project. They were further supported by experts of the Council of Europe.
This activity is implemented in the framework of the Project “Promoting the Effective Protection of Equality and Non-Discrimination in Georgia.” The Project is funded through the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023.
