Equality Ambassadors are planning future activities

The Equality Ambassadors have gathered for a two-day meeting to discuss the main achievements and challenges of the implemented initiatives and to plan future activities.

During the meeting, they met with the representatives of the Public Defender’s Office in Georgia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs  to talk about human rights, existing challenges and redress mechanisms in the country

As a result of the meeting, the Equality Ambassadors planned their future initiatives on diversity and equality in Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia. Their past activities included online discussions about equality and diversity, diversity week organising an exhibition, movie screening, the intellectual game “What? Where? Where?” and graffiti art.

The Equality Ambassadors were selected in Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia as part of the I Choose Equality campaign run by the Council of Europe promoting equality and diversity in the country.

This event was supported by the Council of Europe co-operation Project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The project is implemented under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
