Students and Youth Activists Learn about the Best Examples for Awareness Raising Campaign

The Council of Europe organised information sessions “No Hate Speech: Best Examples from an Awareness Raising Campaign” in Tbilisi, Batumi, and Marneuli on 12, 13, and 14 December.

The participants gained practical knowledge on implementing awareness raising campaign building on the best examples of No Hate Speech Movement - youth campaign led by the Council of Europe to combat hate speech and promote human rights.

Local and international campaign activists provided best practices on awareness raising creative methods and challenges sharing from their personal stories.   The meeting reflected on the objectives and importance of addressing hate speech and discrimination and the role of youth in campaigning.

Students, human rights activists and representatives from NGOs attended the sessions taking place at the State Universities and Marneuli Youth Center. The info session in Marneuli was held in cooperation with the Public Defender Office.

The informational sessions were organised under the Co-operation Project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia” implemented under the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2016-2019.
