Human rights education training for representatives of the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions

On 8-11 March the Council of Europe organised the training of trainers for the representatives of the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions from Tbilisi and regions on human rights education. The training focused on human rights, stereotypes and discrimination, tolerance and diversity, bullying, cyberbullying and hate speech.

The aim of the training course was to help participants efficiently manage human rights education in schools and to support colleagues and pupils in planning and successfully implementing various educational campaigns and preventive events. This, in turn, will help to foster a culture of respect for human rights in the school environment.

The training was conducted by the Council of Europe experts who were involved in developing the Human Rights Education Programme for Resource Officers, which aims at raising awareness on human rights and non-discriminatory approach.

The training of trainers is supported by the co-operation project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia” which is implemented under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2016-2019 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
