The second Steering Committee meeting: progress and future plans

The second Steering Committee of the project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crime and Hate Speech in Georgia” was held in Tbilisi on 26 March. The Steering Committee approved the project work plan for the following six months and reviewed the progress of activities from the previous work plan.

The Steering Committee aims at supervising the implementation of the project and assessing its progress. It also addresses the challenges the project might face. The Steering Committee  is composed of representatives of the Council of Europe and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, along with the main beneficiary institutions – Parliament of Georgia, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Public Defender’s Office, Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor’s Office, High School of Justice, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, and the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

The event was organised as part of the Council of Europe co-operation project “Fighting Discrimination, Hate Crime and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The project is conducted with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP) under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia.
