Studying the good practices of data collection in the United Kingdom

The Council of Europe organised a study visit to the United Kingdom for representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Public Defenders Office and Non-governmental organisation on 1-5 July. The participants learnt about the good practices of data collection on discrimination, hate crime and hate speech, as well as  hate crime monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

The members of Georgian delegation met with representatives of the Home Office, Prosecution Office, and civil society organisations working on reporting and monitoring of hate crimes in the United Kingdom.

This study visit is part of the co-operation project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia” conducted under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2016-2019 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
