Launch of the online HELP course on Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human rights

The Council of Europe made the online HELP course on Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) available for the legal professionals in Georgia. The launch of the course brought together international experts, representatives of civil society organisations and legal staff of the parliament working on parliamentary oversight over the execution of ECtHR judgments by the government.

This course provides all the necessary information on the methodology and the procedure of ECtHR and offers the possibility to the participants to get acquainted with ECHR texts. In a new separate module developed in 2019, the course also explains the execution of the judgments of the ECtHR and of the terms of friendly settlements.

The updated course on Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human rights will be implemented first time in Georgia.  The course gives the possibility to participants to explore materials using different tools such as presentations, interactive screens, knowledge checks and case study.

The online launch of HELP course was organised within the Council of Europe Project “Supporting Parliamentary Oversight over the Execution of the European Court of Human Rights Judgments in Georgia”.
