Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe delivered the first thematic workshop on Drug and Psychoactive Substance Prevention for Georgian mid-level civil servants working on drug prevention and drug policy related issues. The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness on drug prevention, introduce participants with the problems concerning drug and psychoactive substance abuse and improve intersectoral coordination while planning drug prevention interventions and measures.

In addition, Pompidou Group held its Project Board Meeting for the newly launched project ’Developing a Drug Prevention Network for Parents and Professionals in Georgia’. During the meeting, the Pompidou Group team presented the project key directions and a detailed plan of activities which will be implemented till the end of 2023 in Georgia.  

The events were held on September 30 in Tbilisi and were attended by all member institutions and agencies of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council on Combating Drug Abuse of Georgia.
