“Support to the Judicial Reform in Georgia“ Project: publication of a Legal Acts and Regulations compilation on the Lawyers’ Profession

The “Support to the Judicial Reform in Georgia” Project published in partnership the Georgian Bar Association a compilation of legal acts and regulations, which includes the Rules of the Bar Association, the Code of Ethics for Lawyers, the Regulation on Disciplinary Liability and Disciplinary Proceedings, the Symbols of the Association, a sample of lawyer’s warrant and other relevant acts useful for the exercise of the profession of lawyer. It also includes a decision of the Constitutional Court of Georgia regarding the constitutionality of certain articles of the Law of Georgia on Advocates. The objective of this compilation is to serve as a guidance in particular to lawyers at the beginning of their career. The compilation, together with the mandatory traineeship program, will provide a helpful preparatory guidance before the lawyer actually enters a courtroom.

The compilation is published within the framework of the “Support to the Judicial Reform” Project, funded by voluntary contributions of Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, the Slovak Republic and Sweden to support the implementation of the Council of Europe Action plan for Georgia 2016-2019.
