GRECO: Further progress needed in implementing anti-corruption recommendations in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In a new compliance report on Bosnia and Herzegovina the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) assesses the country’s progress in implementing recommendations from GRECO’s fifth evaluation round report on preventing corruption and promoting integrity in central governments (top executive functions) and law enforcement agencies.

GRECO concludes that Bosnia and Herzegovina has fully implemented only two out of 25 recommendations set out in the evaluation report. Fifteen recommendations have been partly implemented, while eight remain not implemented.

GRECO notes that further progress is required over the next 18 months to achieve an adequate level of compliance with its recommendations.

In accordance with its rules of procedure, GRECO has requested the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to submit additional information on the implementation of the outstanding recommendations by 31 May 2026.
